College Picdump No. 3 - 1st Semester Roundup

Holy shit that's a lot

First up - a little booklet.
The task was to explain certain ways to create the illusion of depth without using any text but seperate pictures that show how every way of showing depth works. Also it had to be at least 7 seperate pictures with an explanatory picture each.

Next up, two more booklets.

Both booklets were made for the same task, I simply made two because I wasn't satisfied with the first one.
The task was to show different groups of fonts and what's characteristic for each of those groups. Again, using no text at all, just pictures.

First booklet (The one that I didn't choose)

Second one

Now for the experimental shit

Task 1 - those were pictures we either had to draw with our eyes closed, the left hand, both hands at the same time, in ridiculously short time (like 10 seconds) or something like that. Then we just had to make them 'fancy' with photoshop and whatever we liked to use.

Task 2 - Pretty much the same as task one, but here we had to draw while listening to music, while someone was telling a little story or just saying random letters.

Task 3 - Here we had to take an existing photography (at first a fashion photography, then one of ourselves) and then we had to alter it, however we thought it would be interesting.

Task 5 - We had to make some 'Rapports'. A series of repeating images with one that's standing out. I tried to break it down to the most simple it could get and then I fooled around.

Task 6 - The last task. We simply had to make funky images out of letters.

Typography!
Simply one poster and one bookcover for some contest revolving Faust. We had various guidelines and things but who cares about that as long as the stuff looks nice.

Photography!
The last photography task - Portraitphotography, starring my dad.

Drawing I
And at last, the remaining stuff of our first drawing class, which sucked because it was technical drawing disguised as 'drawing'. Sorry for the crappy quality here, but I fucked up and I'm too lazy to do it again right now. By the way, all of these drawings were made without the use of a ruler, gawd.

And that's it. The first semester is done and pretty much everything I accomplished in that first half year is uploaded, hooray. Now, the first semester sounded pretty boring and exhausting. That's because it was.

The second one won't be though. It's hard to explain but to break it down into an easy sentence: "Now we're starting with the fun stuff." We're drawing actual objects, we're having awesome topics for photography class, we no longer have to do tedious shit in 3/4 classes. We learn how to layout inspite of just 'having to do it' without the fuck knowing how to depict an idea in a fast fashion and in every class we can pretty much do anything we want as long as the result looks good. So, there will be a lot of good stuff coming up. But the next post will definitely be of a nerdy fashion if you catch my drift.

Thanks for reading once again and have a nice day/night!
